I booted the intel Mac from this external disk (I set username: “LR5Mojave”) and installed only Lr5 (of course I had the last Lr 5.7.1 version Mac installer) On an intel Mac, I installed a fresh copy of MacOS Mojave on an external disk.
So here how I “installed” Lr 5 on an M1 Mac mini running Big Sur: Even if you have the old install files, the problem is that the installer will not be permitted to run as it’s 32bit. Mac only: As u/djaane correctly states, to install an old version of Lr 5/6 on a Mac which runs macOS Catalina or Big Sur you must use migration assistant.
